Logic Model

The Opportunity Structures for Preparation and Inspiration (OSPrI) study sought to identify a set of common organizational, curricular and instructional features—called “critical components”— in eight STEM-focused high schools with high rates of success and diverse student populations.

A major goal of the study was to create an evidence-based logic model, or theory of action to explain how these eight exemplar ISHSs functioned to achieve their successes in STEM, especially for students in underrepresented groups. The Logic Model illustrates the critical components and how they work, as students develop the skills and traits during high school that lead to success in STEM upon graduation. The Executive Summary explains this in more detail.
